German Bundesliga outfits Borussia Dortmund have sacked their manager Thomas Tuchel. In a shock move, the 43-year old who took over Dortmund after Klopp, was manager of the club for past two seasons and helped them win their first DFB Pokal in the last five years. But the situation changed when Dortmund finished in third position this season.
"We would like to thank Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff for the sporting success at BVB, which resulted in a win last Saturday at the DFB Pokalseig in Berlin against Eintracht Frankfurt. For his professional future we wish him only the very best", stated clubs official statement.
Tuchel won 69 of his 107 matches as a manager of Borussia Dortmund. It is also rumoured that the misconception between Tuchel and Dortmund's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has made the coach's departure inevitable.
The manager was not keen on selling the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Ilkay Gundogan in the summer and wasn't overjoyed by the return of Mario Gotze - a mover reportedly driven by the Watzke.
